Different artifacts answer different needs
- Lessons explain and demonstrate the knowledge or skill.
- Labs and guided exercises let learners practice what the course teaches.
- Assessments check approved course content and learning outcomes.
- Quick References and job aids support recall after instruction.
- Instructor materials add facilitation notes, answer keys, pacing guidance, and delivery support that learners should not see.
- Slides provide a presentation layer for instructor-led delivery rather than replacing the learner manual.
Alignment is the quality control
If an assessment tests a topic the course did not teach, or a lab requires a skill that was never introduced, the package is inconsistent. Producing the artifacts from one approved course structure makes those relationships easier to validate and maintain.
