Approve the decisions that affect everything else
Audience level, prerequisites, objectives, module sequence, labs, duration, and authoritative sources influence nearly every downstream artifact. If those decisions change late, the same change may need to be reflected in learner content, assessments, instructor materials, slides, job aids, and LMS output.
A reviewed syllabus gives stakeholders one compact document to challenge before that duplication exists.
Treat approval as a production boundary
- Use the syllabus to confirm what is in scope and what is not.
- Resolve obvious gaps or mismatched objectives before production.
- Keep the approved plan as the reference point for the generated courseware.
- Use later revision workflows for genuine changes instead of correcting preventable planning mistakes.
