What Should You Review Before Approving an AI-Generated Course Outline?

AI can accelerate course planning, but approval should still be a deliberate human decision. The reviewer is confirming the training scope—not merely checking whether the outline sounds polished.

Approval checklist

  1. Check the audience and prerequisites

Confirm the assumed learner level and required prior knowledge match the actual class.

  2. Read every objective

Look for missing outcomes, duplication, vague wording, or objectives that exceed the requested course scope.

  3. Scan the module sequence

Make sure the order is teachable and that important objectives have a clear place in the outline.

  4. Challenge the timing and practice

Verify that the duration is realistic and that labs are included where learners need hands-on performance.

  5. Review authoritative sources

Confirm that the approved sources are appropriate for technical or policy-sensitive claims.

Do not approve because the wording looks finished

The approval decision should mean the team is comfortable using this structure as the production reference. If the scope is wrong, correct it now.

Put the workflow into practice.
